There are a number of ways that you can use the denoiser workflow in Solaris.

Once you have setup your Solaris scene, you can do one of the following 2 setups

Setup 1 - Fetch Node

  1. In the OUT context, first, create a fetch node, and in the source field, locate your desired LOP usdrender_rop
  2. Once done, drop down a denoise node and connect the fetch to the output.
  3. Set mode type, output location, Asymmetry, Flow and debug options, and once ready to render, press the Denoise button.

Houdini will then render the frame(s) set in the rendermanrendersettings node and once all the frames have been rendered, the denoise process will begin.

Setup 2 - usdrender node

  1. Again, in the OUT context, create a usdrender node, and change the render delegate to RenderMan RIS (XPU rendering is not currently supported with denoising in Solaris)
  2. Set frame range and
  3. Set the LOP path to where your render settings are filed (in this default case that is /stage/usdrender_rop1)
  4. Set Render Settings to the location in your scene graph tree (in this default case this is /Render/rendersettings)
  5. Connect a denoise node under the usdrender1 node and set your desired parameters, clicking the denoise button to begin rendering the frames to disc.

Note : At this time we do not support the denoising workflow for Solaris in TOPs / PDG yet
